Taking into consideration the local community and the global environment, we will strive to make effective use of resources, address climate change, environmental conservation, including the protection of biodiversity and ecosystems, the prevention of pollution and promote resource conservation, waste reduction, and environmental awareness activities.
We will contribute to the realization of a recycling-oriented economy and society by actively promoting green purchasing and recycling.
We will promote the provision of uniforms made using eco materials and eco materials (fabric), and the collection and recycling of used uniforms.
Chikuma will make every effort to establish, manage and continuously improve environmental management systems based on our “environmental policy."
We shall comply with relevant environmental laws and regulations and other requirements agreed upon by Chikuma in the performance of our business activities.
This environmental policy will be communicated to all executive officers and employees together with education and training programs so that it may be further understood and practiced by all executive officers and employees. Our environmental policy will also be made available to the public.
EMS aims to protect and create a better environment by reducing the negative environmental impact of our business activities. Under an EMS, business owners voluntarily establish environmental action policies (environmental policy), set targets, formulate plans to achieve these targets (PLAN), implement the plans (DO), verify (CHECK) and review the results (ACTION), and establish higher targets to facilitate on-going improvements.
Chikuma's EMS applies to the activities, products and services of the Head Office, Tokyo Branch, Fukuoka Branch, Sapporo Office, Sendai Office, Nagoya Office, Kobe Office and Hiroshima Liaison Office. (Applicable personnel include all executive officers, employees, temporary staff, and on-site subcontractors.)
